Deploying the PoE injector is a “Plug-and-Play” process designed for rapid office setup.
Installation Steps
AC Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC input of the injector and plug it into a 220V wall outlet.
Data Input: Connect a standard Ethernet cable from your non-PoE network switch or router into the “Data In” (or LAN) port of the injector.
Power Output: Connect a secondary Ethernet cable (Cat5e or better) from the “PoE Out” (or Power+Data) port of the injector directly to the LAN port on the back of the Polycom phone.
Verification: The LED indicator on the injector will turn green/solid once a valid handshake is established with the phone.
No Software Configuration Required
The injector is an unmanaged physical layer device. It uses Auto-Sensing Technology to determine the exact power requirements of the connected Polycom model.
Auto-MDIX: Automatically detects the cable type (straight-through or crossover).
Handshaking: Executes a low-voltage handshake with the Polycom device to ensure it is PoE-compatible before delivering full power, preventing damage to non-PoE devices.
